Tuesday is a better day than Monday!
Aug. 11th, 2009 08:24 amIron Man 2 Trailer - Wheeee! I'm not sure about the villain etc. but I DO like that they're dealing with the fallout of last movie. Oh, Tony. Only you would liken yourself to a prostitute to make a point.
Lucy Knisley shares her Paris journal with us. I purchased her previous Paris journal, French Milk and quite enjoyed it. There are two reasons why I like Lucy's journals: her art style is adorable and she travels through eating, just like I do! I hardly seem to recall the bits of travel between meals.
For instance, I have vague impressions of
ashura's family home in Queens but I clearly recall the fried lettuce and pork chops her mum would make for me, the steak we went out to eat and had a pitcher of sangria with, the lovely Korean BBQ with sashimi, my first night there having cold lychee in her kitchen then going out for Vietnamese food, and
ashura teaching me to put a fried egg in my Ichiban! <3<3<3
New Year's in A2 where
luckykitty introduced me to the wonder that is chicken & broccoli on pizza with alfredo sauce AND they also delivered milkshakes! MILKSHAKE DELIVERY! Amazing! She also took me to my first Outback where I had the lamb! And around midnight the one night I made yorkshire puddings that we ate hot with jam. <3 Ooh, and the other trip to A2 for a Brellacon where we had gelato (I had blackberry and lemon scoops, I believe?), Indian food (I had a paneer and naan), we cooked delicious meals, and of course the charming greasy diner! J'Accuse!
My last trip to Maryland with the roadhouse steak (20 oz?! INCREDIBLE!), dim sum and leftovers being stored on the front step because the fridge was stuffed full, the Korean fast food joint in the Asian mall... UHnnnnnn! So much good food!
Even my recent trip to the mountains will be remembered by the delicious breakfast at the golf course, pan au chocolat, apricot bearclaws, and triple chocolate cookies at TWO different wood-fired bakeries.
I have a future trip in mind for Texas and already I'm compiling a list of restaurants and local dishes I want to try; IBS be damned!
I think I keep my long-term memory in my stomach.
Hm, I also think my stomach is doing better today. Maybe it was just a flu? Note to the flu: If you want me to notice you there must be another component aside from gastrointestinal distress and fatigue. Those two 'symptoms' are very nearly a daily occurrence.
Back to programming!
