Mar. 12th, 2010 08:26 amHOLY CRAP you guys!!! I think that by the end of this weekend I... I may actually be caught up enough on work that I can kick back and watch tv or write for fun or start another painting. =D HOLY CRAP! The stress has been very stressy. OOH! And I can finally catch up on comments and emails, too! *hears a heavenly chorus*
This cracked me up hard this morning.
Panty liners with 'Chinese herbs' - Apparently they make your ladybits tingle! :O Putting aside the 'mystic orient' slant I admit I'm curious about a pantyliner than will not only tingle my bits but also give my pants a floral atmosphere. In the interest of being horribly TMI I have enquired about getting a box of pantyliners sent to me for testing and review purposes. Tingly bits! How exciting!
The pill is given health all-clear - This is a bit reassuring. I've never used oral contraceptives, I used a Nuvaring, but I have been looking at starting later this year.
Schmevil talks about feedback and I agree with everything she's said. Once I 'publish' a story it's no longer mine to control. It belongs to anyone who reads it and I cannot dictate how they interact with it or with other readers.
Resisting the time suck - AUUUGH YES! I have so many time sucks in my life. And yet... I'm a webby guys. I develop and design web sites and web applications. I am also really into Internet culture and I'm fascinated by social media. What is a 'time suck' for one person is my gathering information, seeing how systems work, and keeping an ear to the ground for interesting developments/news/links. But I have to admit, I do go into information overload from time to time and, gasping for air, I push myself away from my computer, find a book, and try to remember how to read big blocks of text.
One of my huuuge time sucks is www.spoonflower.com. I want to reupholster my glider rocker and matching ottoman this year so I keep scoping Spoonflower for an interesting fabric to use. I'd also like to renovate my office this year, which means pulling everything out so I can repaint it and find fabrics I like for the curtains. I'd also like to redo the curtains in the great room but that'll be like pulling teeth to get Craig to agree to any fabric other than the plain muslin we have up.
...I also really want to start submitting designs to tee shirt sites and spoonflower and istockphoto.com and I want to get my etsy actually stocked with stuff. But that all requires time that I currently don't have. Still, I can write the plans out and if I find myself without a job or between contracts I can start working on them!
