Apr. 6th, 2010 09:45 am5th April 2010 10:44 EST WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff. link - War is hell. Now that there are eyes everywhere the actions of armed forces personnel are being scrutinized like they never have been before.
US girl sues for $1m over arrest for desk scribble - To me, suing for that much money for this incident detracts from any sympathy I might have felt. Yes, it was overkill to arrest a young teen for writing on her desk but it is also overkill to sue for a million dollars over it. Also, reporting the one incident does not take into account the factors that may have led up to this overreaction. Was it a scare tactic used on a student who has a history of disruption and disobedience? It isn't reported.

Constance McMillen sent to a "fake prom" upon wanting to bring a female date and over at Jezebel - I'm torn on the issue. Yes, it's horrible. Yes, it's a jackass move by all those involved and came from a place of bitter resentment and hate. Do I think Teh Intarwebz should be ganging up on the kids involved in their Facebooks? No. That is bullying just as much as what they did is.
