Tuesday Link Blogging
Jun. 8th, 2010 09:16 amEconomic Hitmen "Confessions of an Economic Hitman author John Perkins on how the corporate American empire took over the world." - I think I need to read this book.
Random:
Olivia Munn's Geek Goddess Schtick - I only know of Olivia because she dated Chris Pine for a bit. XD The comments are thought-provoking.
The ultimate t-shirt store ranking list!
The geek in me felt the need to pass this link on: Star Wars-inspired corsets have power over weak minds
And in the same vein: Bow Tie Fighter, Tuxedo by Reece Ward - Ha! I usually dislike fake tuxedo tee shirts but this one made me smile.
YOU, THE D.J. - Not like this is something brand new and shiny but the writer has a good point about online 'D.J.s' creating play lists that are more targeted to your tastes than radio can be. (The service he mentioned with this capability is MOG.) I see online playlists as a natural progression from the mix-tapes I used to make in high school and the mix-CDs I make for my dad. I tailor the selection to match a theme, a person, or just to showcase interesting sounding music.

The Smashing Book
Web App Client Questionnaire
Science & Nature:
John Kasaona: How poachers became caretakers - I love TED Talks. "In his home of Namibia, John Kasaona is working on an innovative way to protect endangered animal species: giving nearby villagers (including former poachers) responsibility for caring for the animals. And it's working."
Innovation: Invisibility cloaks and how to use them
Video of a landslide - My mouth hung open as I watched this. I've never seen anything like it.
The World Health Organization has long proclaimed that sexual health is a fundamental human right, but do physicians realize that? - Very fascinating article and yet another reason why religious zealotry has no place in medicine. The doctor that won't prescribe you birth control is also not likely to care if you find sexual satisfaction.
