Merton & Interesting stuff
Jul. 6th, 2010 11:34 amMerton is back and this time on Omegle! I have yet to try one of these random video chat sites out but this guy does a good job making them seem appealing. At least, until I see my first flasher.
I wouldn't even post this except it's been mentioned before that Merton might be Ben Folds. Apparently Ben Folds thought that was hilarious because he performed a tribute to Merton by imitating him in front of an audience of two thousand people on Chat Roulette! How surreal would it have been to see this dude sitting in front of a keyboard with a small portion of a loud audience visible behind him when you click 'next' to find the next chatter?
It gives me a tickle in my belly to see Internet things shared as part of shared off-line culture and the meta involved in a show like this is thrilling!
Or maybe I'm a huge nerd?
Virtual prisons: how e-maps are curtailing our freedom - Hey! I'm not a paranoid psycho! =D
Celebrating Free-dom: The Journal Register Company’s Ben Franklin Project - I like the interactivity being tempered with the acknowledgement that there still needs to be real reporting going on. Just because four hundred people say something is true doesn't mean it shouldn't be fact-checked before being published.
The iPod, described in Navajo - Thanks for the cool video, Lisa!
Ella Fitzgerald Too Darn Hot - Summer is officially here. It's okay up to 18C here today but I feel for the peeps who are roasting alive in 30C+ heat.
