Friday Linking!
Nov. 5th, 2010 09:17 amSketchavember for November 3 - HRG & Sylar admire a missile
Sketchavember for November 4 - Cute little naked elf admiring his reflection (maybe NSFW due to naked bum)
Artist Melts 1,527 Guns to Make Shovels for Tree Planting!
Party in my pants - cloth pads! I think I'm finally going to take the plunge and buy some panty liners.
A really great idea for integrating bird nests into private homes - If I had the option I'd love to use this!
@shitmycatstype - Hahaha! Funniest twitter I've seen today.
Hulu plus opens up to all - I assume 'all' means 'only in the USA'?
Craigslist erotic ads must go: Canada - We're such copycats. And I'd like to point this out How Censoring Craigslist Helps Pimps, Child Traffickers and Other Abusive Scumbags
After the kerfluffle about DA's binary sex designation and the ignorant insistence you can ONLY be male or female many people are looking for someplace new to put their art. Artician.com keeps popping up as a viable alternative.
I'm pretty disgusted with DA for even needing to know the gender/sex of its users but I'm even more disgusted that they have to do this for advertising purposes. I'm very glad I didn't get into advertising, I think it would have eroded my soul.
Speaking of kerfluffles (more like a giga-kerfluffle)... a Cooks Source magazine editor has made herself the target of ire for many Internet denizens with her ignorant comments regarding copyright law as it pertains to the Internet and her aloof, unapologetic statements to a writer who confronted her about using an article in her magazine without fair compensation.

I tweeted last night that I found it ironic only a week after the Internet was fired up about anti-bullying I see hundreds of people harassing an individual over her bone-headed statements and ignorance of copyright law. I was told it isn't bullying, it's standing up for the rights of a writer.
I argued it is a very fine line between rallying for a good cause or harassing a company to change its policies and bullying an individual. That line was crossed when the Judith's personal contact information, including her home address, was posted to Facebook. (According to a tweet I received.) It was removed but it happened and you know that means screen shots were taken.
This article on NPR is along the lines of what I was thinking. - Internet justice is always swift and often severe, which can be satisfying at a moment like this if you happen to be a person who creates content. At the same time, it's a really sobering reminder that in this case, the mob may very well be correct, but what would it have taken to slow it down if it weren't true?
It's a sobering thought and it's definitely food for thought. And for the record, I'm really glad to see such a big deal being made out of copyright on the Internet! The Cooks Source activity made me introspective. Crowd-sourcing justice brings up a lot of ethical questions for me.
